TEXTS / ESSAYS
This section brings together the writings that accompany my artistic practice: poetic reflections, short essays, and curatorial texts that dialogue with my visual work.
They are fragments of a single process: thinking painting from within, inhabiting its silence, and allowing the words to emerge with the same slowness as the form.
ART AS A BRIDGE TO THE DEEP
Human experience often transcends what the conceptual mind can fully comprehend. Our emotions and perceptions arise from deeper levels of the mind, surpassing the limits of ordinary rational thought. Painting offers a different space: a way to approach these experiences beyond words, allowing us to feel and express more subtle aspects of existence.
THE MEANING OF THE VOID
But even in the thickness of night, shapes suggest a face, a door, a path waiting to be seen.
Not all that is black is emptiness. Not all that is white is light.
What will you do with this mystery?
THE UNCERTAIN SPACES
I work with what is latent, what consciousness has left behind but the body still remembers. My practice is a constant search within those uncertain spaces where memory and time intertwine.
PERMANENCE
On the surface, a memory rests like dust in the air. Neither past nor present, only a moment that persists.
WHERE THE GAZE PAUSES
In the shadow dwells a form of clarity, a space where the gaze slows down and learns to perceive with attention.
Direct light reveals, but it also interrupts. The half-light, instead, allows things to breathe, lets the outline become porous, and invites the visible to dialogue with what remains hidden.
I paint from that threshold where light does not illuminate but listens. Black is not absence, but depth; white, a pause through which time passes.
Between the two, the image holds itself like a thread of air, subtle, almost intangible, awaiting the moment when the gaze stops and ceases to seek.
THE INFINITE DIALOGUE
Painting is more than an image, it is a breath, an attempt by silence to become eternal.
And suddenly, as you gaze, you see yourself, in your light and darkness, in your chaos and calm, in your abyss and your truth.
CRACKS
Between light and shadow, small cracks appear: echoes of a gesture made, a trace that fades away.
WHERE THE ETERNAL DWELLS
I have always felt that art is the eternal language of the soul. It connects us beyond time, culture, or language. It reminds us of who we are, where we come from, and all that we can imagine.
MATTER AND SILENCE
In Felipe Schiffrin’s work, matter does not assert itself: it withdraws. The visible arises from restraint, from a gesture that finds in silence its most exact form.
His paintings do not seek to represent but to sustain a state of attention. Each surface seems to contain a movement that has been paused, as if time itself had found a point of suspension there.
Black and white, his essential poles, act as fields of resonance. Between them, the image becomes a boundary, a breath, a line dissolving. There is a tension between appearance and disappearance, between the density of pigment and the transparency of emptiness.
His practice is a meditation on perception: how to see without naming, how to listen to matter before it takes on meaning. In that stillness, the work opens up as an inner space, where silence is the place where everything begins to be revealed.
